List of 6 frequently asked questions.

  • When do you accept transfer Saints?

We gladly accept transfer Saints on a rolling basis beginning in the Spring, ending August 30th OR January semester transfer applicants NO LATER than January 1st.

We do not accept mid-semester transfers.

Be sure to inquire about the MIAA athletic regulations pertaining to transferring and timing.
  • Does my teen require an MIAA form?

All male transfer students must complete an Eligibility Verification Form(EVF) in order to be cleared by the MIAA.  In addition to the EVF, the MIAA will need to see a copy of your child's birth certificate. Feel free to reach out to Jenn Holland with any questions you may have or to obtain a copy of the EVF.
  • Do you accept Senior transfers?

Unfortunately at this time, we do not accept senior transfer Saints unless you are a military or family relocating to Annapolis. This is considered a special circumstance and reviewed by admissions committee.
  • Will my credits transfer to St. Mary’s equally?

St. Mary’s graduates typically have 32 credits. If you are concerned about subjects transferring, rest assured your guidance counselor will assist you. If you transfer in your junior year, colleges will receive 2 transcripts which is typical of a transfer student. It is not a negative reflection.
  • Do you have to be Catholic to attend St. Mary's High School?

No, we are a faith based environment fostering a solid moral compass. We welcome all faiths and backgrounds to join our community.

  • Do transfer Saints have a difficult time adjusting?

St. Mary's High School welcomed 28 transfer students to the sophomore and junior classes. The transition always takes time but we pride ourselves on making your teen and family feel at home and at ease. Your teen is paired with an existing Saint to ease the transition, quartely check in luncheons etc.  Our transfer student lunch, hosted by the guidance department, takes place at the end of the 2nd week of school.  Here the students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with members of the faculty, as well as one another.
