Students Raise Money for Paraguayan Nursery

The Spanish National Honor Society led a school wide fundraiser for a nursery in Paraguay in a Redemptorist Parish. The school raised $2,023 for this worthy cause.

The name of the nursery is “Guardería Albergue San Juan Bautista del Barrio Ytororó of Pilar, Paraguay.  It was founded in October of 2007 by Father Ottorino Zamboni C.Ss.R from Italy.  It emerged in response to the need to take care of children for mothers while they worked earning money often in positions such as domestic employees, recyclable picking, and patchwork sewing for which they earn the equivalent of $50 to $100 a month.
