On Thursday, April 28 SMHS senior Fox Bernhard was honored as a finalist for the Future Innovator award at the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council Awards: Operation Techcellence. Congratulations, Fox! (click here to see a video from the awards ceremony)
Fox founded the St. Mary’s High School Engineering and Robotics Club because of his love and passion for STEM. As the president of the club, he created and taught a lesson on physics of trebuchets for the members of the club and coordinated having the students design and build their own trebuchet. He is also a founding member of the St. Mary’s Team America Rocketry Challenge. Additionally, he is a Parvis Scholar (4.0 or above), a member of the National Latin Honor Society, and has been nominated for the NHS Award of Leadership, Character, and Service. Fox will be attending the University of California, Santa Barbara in the fall and plans to major in electrical engineering.
