St. Mary's Supports Nationwide 54-Day Rosary Novena

Background: You may ask, ‘What is a novena?’ A novena consists of nine days of prayer representing the nine days that the Blessed Mother and Apostles waited in the Cenacle for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. A 54-day novena is six novenas with the first three focused on petition and the final three focused on thanksgiving. 

 

The 54-Day Novena was revealed by the Blessed Mother to Fortuna Agrelli in 1884 in Italy. The Blessed Mother told her, anything you ask through this novena will be granted. The petition must be one, specific intention only. The rosary is said daily for 54 days for this one, specific intention. We will begin on August 15, the feast of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady into Heaven and conclude on the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary on October 7. 

 

How to pray Novena: 27 days in petition asking for one thing only, then 27 days of thanksgiving that your prayer has been answered whether or not you see it with your own eyes. Begin praying the Joyful mysteries on August 15, on the second day August 16, pray the Sorrowful mysteries and on the third day of the Novena, August 17, pray the Glorious mysteries, then repeat the same cycle for 27 days of petition and 27 days of thanksgiving. Together we will pray for the following specific intention:

 

 

We will have a live stream rosary on August 15, the Feast of the Assumption, at 7:00 p.m. as we begin our 54-day rosary. We will live stream the rosary every Thursday at 7:00 p.m., led by one of our priests. On the other six days of the week, each of us will say a daily rosary at whatever time we choose for the intention of God’s Peace and Blessings Surrounding the Coming Election. We will live stream the rosary on Wednesday October 7, at 7:00 p.m., the final day of the Novena on Feast Day of Our Lady of Victory.
