Holy Spirit Novena

Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province to share a series of reflections on Facebook
The next nine days-- between today and the day before Pentecost Sunday-- was the first "Novena." It was a vigil of longing, fear and hope, shared by the Apostles and disciples locked in the Upper Room and gathered around the First Disciple, Mary the Mother of Jesus.

The founder of the Redemptorists, St. Alphonsus Liguori, wrote a beautiful novena to the Holy Spirit in preparation for Pentecost Sunday, which is a week from this Sunday. To help mark this Novena, the Redemptorists of the Baltimore Province will share a series of reflections on Facebook. There will be a different Redemptorist speaking each day including two of our priests here from St. Mary’s. It is a beautiful way to prepare for Pentecost, which is the great birth of our church. We invite you to join us for this Novena beginning today, Tuesday, May 22. Videos can be viewed here.
St. Mary’s Parish, a Catholic congregation served by the Redemptorist Order, includes St. Mary’s Church and St. John Neumann Mission Church.
