Every spring and fall, the St. Vincent de Paul Society conducts a food drive to support the mission of the Annapolis Light House. This year due to the coronavirus, it just is not practical or prudent to do so, but that does not diminish the need to restock the food bank that supports so many in need in the Annapolis area. St. Vincent de Paul has designated the week of September 21- September 27 as St. Mary’s Light House week and will conduct a virtual food drive to help restock the shelves of the Light House. There are several ways you can donate food to the Light House in a contactless manner. For the safety of Light House staff and residents, please wear a mask while on Light House property.
Items can be delivered between 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. at the Light House (10 Hudson Street, Annapolis.) All donations of food or supplies should be brought to the back door of the Light House. Ring the doorbell and the RA at the front desk will speak through the intercom acknowledging the drop-off and will collect the items after you have left. Note: Tuesdays and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. the Light House holds a drive through pantry so please avoid these times when dropping off food items.
Items can also be ordered online and delivered to The Light House (10 Hudson Street, Annapolis, MD 21401,) from many local grocery stores including: Instacart, Whole Foods, Giant Foods, Safeway, and Wegmans .
Of course monetary donations are always accepted which allows the Light House to purchase the items they need for distribution. Mail donations to The Light House, 10 Hudson Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 or donate online at https://lhs.publishpath.com/donate
