Teacher Grant News!

All St. Genesius Society fundraising goes straight back to our teachers, students and classrooms!  Over the last two years, we have raised about $5000 each year!  
 
In 2024 we launched SGS Teacher Grants for the Arts!  We are thrilled to announce, how we are sending SGS funds right back into our St. Mary's classrooms!  
 
The following teachers applied for a classroom grant from SGS and were awarded the following:

2025 Grant Awards
  • Matt Martelli, High School Theater Director,  $1800 Professional band performers for the High School Musical
  • Zack Scudlark, Band Director $700 for band equipment
  • Laura Mueller & Zack Scudlark, High School Liturgical Music, $80 Keyboard/Piano Stand
  • Reed Gallant, Elementary Art Teacher,  $300 Kids Cardboard box cutter
  • Joanna Bigelow, High School Art Teacher $300 to support a Coffee House featuring student performances
  • Kendal Chatlos, 2nd Grade, $900 Ballet Theater of Maryland Performance in Marian Hall
  • Laura Sollock, Middle School Musical, $550 Wireless communication headset 
 
2024 Grant Awards
  • Zack Scudlark, Middle School Band Director $900 for band equipment
  • Reed Gallant, Elementary Art Teacher $100 art room light boxes
  • Diana McLoud, Elementary Music Teacher and Choir Director $600 in musical instruments
  • Joanna Bigelow, High School Art Teacher $300 to support a Coffee House featuring student performances

St. Genesius Society Mission:

The St. Genesius Society at St. Mary’s School in Annapolis is a parent-led volunteer organization dedicated to supporting performing and fine arts, including theatre, music and studio arts. Named for St. Genesius, the patron saint of performers, St. Genesius Society activities and fundraising will support creatives of all types and foster a love of the arts at the school, throughout St. Mary’s parish, and in the local community.
