Becoming a Parishioner

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of St. Mary’s Church. Our parish is a vibrant faith filled Catholic community, currently serving over 5,000 families in the Annapolis area. The parish is part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, and is administered by the Redemptorist Priests of the Baltimore Province.
The Redemptorists are a missionary congregation that is currently working in 77 different countries. We were founded by St. Alphonsus in Italy in 1732 and came to America in 1832. St. Mary’s Annapolis was one of our first foundations in the new world and a place where we initially trained our seminarians. St. Mary’s cornerstone was blessed by St. John Neumann, C.Ss.R. and at one time Blessed Francis Seelos, C.Ss.R was the pastor here. To find out more about the Redemptorist Congregation please log onto www.Redemptorists.net.
The parish has two Mass sites; St. Mary’s Church on Duke of Gloucester Street, and our mission church, St. John Neumann on Bestgate Road. In addition to the two churches, we also have a Catholic Elementary School and High School, a thriving Religious Education program, and over 60 different organizations that minister to all aspects of parish, family and community life.
Parish boundary lines have been established by the Archdiocese, and due to the large population of families within the St. Mary’s boundaries, we have to respect those boundary lines when accepting new parishioners. Please see the map and Parish Boundary Policy. If you fall outside the parish boundaries, there are several other Roman Catholic parishes in Anne Arundel County, and you may find a listing of those parishes on the Archdiocese of Baltimore Website at http://www.archbalt.org/parishes.
If you fall within the parish boundaries, please complete the New Parishioner Interest Form and return it to the Rectory office at 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis MD 21401, or to 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401. You will be contacted by a clergy member to set up a time to meet and complete the registration process. You will receive a letter from the parish confirming your parishioner status.
