2019 Catholic Schools Week Activities

St. Mary’s High School

Catholic education is a collaborative effort that would not be possible without each participant’s contribution, for whom we recognize and honor this week.

Monday, January 28th – Founders Day
Our students will attend Mass to honor and celebrate the founders of our school, the Redemptorist and School Sisters of Notre Dame. We encourage you to join us for Mass at 9:45 am in St. Mary’s Church.

Tuesday, January 29th – Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day
We recognize the hard work our faculty & staff. Their dedication to Catholic education and SMHS in particular, provides exceptional opportunities for our students to build and strengthen their faith and academic achievements as they navigate through their four years of high school. The PFA is providing a lunch to honor our faculty & staff on this day.

Wednesday, January 30th – Student Appreciation Day
With our students as the primary participants in Catholic education, we celebrate that they are a part of the SMHS community. Their unique and vibrant personalities create a rich and diverse learning environment and we are grateful they chose Catholic education for their high school career. The PFA is providing each student with a Chick-fil-a lunch on this day.

Thursday, January 31st – Parent Appreciation Day
We honor our parents for choosing Catholic education for their child(ren). Parent support allows us to create a faith-based, rigorous learning environment that provides the students with a strong foundation for future success. We are grateful for all you do. Coffee and donuts will be passed out to parents as they drop off their child(ren) in the morning in the parking lot. We hope to see you there!

Friday, February 1st – Community Appreciation Day
We incorporate our goal, “Open my eyes, Lord”, on this day as we choose to honor and serve our community through various outreach activities. Our community is an integral part of SMHS and we wish to be an integral part of the community. We will use the “Advisory Schedule” on this day, so students can participate in writing thank you letters, sorting donated clothing and shoes, as well as making sandwiches and blankets for the homeless.
