ST. MARY’S HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT RECIEVES PRESIDENT’S VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARD

Jazlyn Rivera, a high school student at St. Mary’s, has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award.
The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their county, was granted by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program on behalf of the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation. St. Mary’s nominated Jazlyn for national honors this fall in recognition of her volunteer service.

Principal Mindi Imes commented, “Congratulations to Jazlyn who is an exceptional St. Mary's student who is being recognized for her commitment to academic excellence and service.  This young lady is a leader in our community and we are so proud of her accomplishments.”

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), recognizes middle level and high school students across America for outstanding volunteer service.

“Prudential is honored to celebrate the contributions of these remarkable young volunteers,” said Prudential Chairman and CEO John Strangfeld. “By shining a spotlight on the difference they’ve made in their communities, we hope others are inspired to volunteer, too.”
