St. Mary’s High School Hosts Special Agent Linh Phung

SA Phung addressed the student body on the importance of internet safety.
Today, St. Mary’s High School welcomed FBI Special Agent, Linh Phung, who spoke to our students on the importance of internet safety. SA Phung began her career with the FBI in May 2006. Out of the FBI Academy, SA Phung was assigned to the New York field for 10 years and while assigned to New York, she investigated counterterrorism for three years and spent most of her career in New York investigating Crimes Against Children. In June 2016, SA Phung was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent at the Violent Crimes Against Children Unit located at FBI Headquarters where she oversaw the Crimes Against Children programs in eight field offices located across the U.S. Since April 2019, SA Phung has been assigned to the Crimes Against Children squad at the FBI Baltimore field office.

During her presentation, SA Phung specifically addressed the topics of extortion/sextortion, cyberbulling, boyfriend/girlfriend revenge and data compromise. SA Phung also provided tips on internet and social media best practices, stressing to students the dangers and consequences of sharing too much on these ever-evolving platforms.
