Jacob Kazimir Named St. Mary’s Varsity Wrestling Head Coach

St. Mary’s High School has named Jacob Kazimir as the new head coach of the school’s MIAA wrestling team. Kazimir served as an assistant coach for the team for the 2018-2019 season and will replace former head coach, Brad Best, who led the team for the last four years.
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jacob Kazimir as head varsity wrestling coach,” said St. Mary’s Athletic Director Allison Fondale. “Jacob takes over for Brad Best who led our team to two consecutive MIAA Championships. Jacob was an integral part of our team last year as an assistant coach and brings a wealth of experience having wrestled four years at Columbia University and accomplishing a very successful high school career. I look forward to the continued growth of our program with him at the helm."
Principal Mindi Imes also commented, “Coach Jacob Kazimir's personal wrestling experience and his passion for the sport were evident this year when he served as an assistant coach.  We look forward to supporting coach Kazimir's leadership as the head wrestling coach as he continues to build our championship wrestling program on the foundation that coach Brad Best fostered.
Kazimir was a member of Columbia University’s wrestling team from 2010 to 2014, and earned 126 career wins as a two-time Ohio state placewinner while at Kenston High School in his hometown of Auburn Township, Ohio. Kazimir earned a Bachelor of Science from Columbia University and a Master of Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He currently serves as an engineer for Northrop Grumman Mission Systems.
