Advancement and Alumni

Mission Statement

The Office of Advancement oversees all fundraising initiatives, events, alumni affairs and communications for the parish community of St. Mary's Church, St. John Neumann Church and St. Mary's School.

The role of the Office of Advancement is to position the parish and schools by articulating a clear vision and mission, establishing deep and long-lasting relationships with our parents, parishioners, alumni, donors and the broader Annapolis community. We depend greatly on private resources to pursue excellence and advance the parish and school.

Fundraising activities administered and managed by the Advancement Office include the St. Mary's School Annual Fund, endowments, scholarship funds, planned giving, tuition assistance, and parish stewardship (offertory, Faith Direct, and the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal.) 

Our school's primary fundraising priority is the St. Mary's Annual Fund. The Annual Fund is the most direct way for parents, alumni, parishioners, family and friends to support our Catholic schools. While tuition and fees may be the largest source of revenue for St. Mary’s Schools, philanthropic gifts are vital to the school's operating budget.

By giving a gift to the Annual Fund you will be investing in Excellence.

Gifts to the Annual Fund directly impact our students and by giving to the Annual Fund you help to improve our School in many ways…

Academics such as the progressive St. Isidore Cyber program, the Environmental Studies and outdoor education programs, the Fine and Performing Arts initiatives, Scholarships and Tuition Assistance-ensuring a Catholic education for all that seek it, the diverse Athletic program, the progressive 21st Century hands-on curriculum, and our soon to be built Team House and Early Learning Center.

Alumni Relations

The St. Mary’s Alumni Association exists to advance the interests and welfare of St. Mary’s School and their alumni and to foster close relations among them. We connect alumni to the school and to each other, provide valued services to our members, and support the school's missions of providing the highest-quality education to students in the Catholic tradition. The Alumni Association is governed by a 15 member volunteer board.

Communications

Communication is key for a community as large as St. Mary’s. Our communications director works closely with senior staff to provide consistency of messaging, graphics and brand identification; and to ensure regular communications through print, electronic, and social media, all in support of the overall mission of St. Mary’s. Events

Events provide excellent opportunities for you to get involved in the school and parish community at St. Mary’s. Join us for our signature events such as the Auction, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Tee It Up Golf Tournament, or the Parish Picnic to name a few. We also manage all alumni events including Alumni Weekend and alumni reunions.
