The Team House weight room, located at the back of the facility and easily accessible to Pascal Field, provides students with state-of-the-art athletic training equipment. The weight room houses eight power racks, free weights and dumbbells ranging from five to 100 pounds, medicine balls, bands, chains and five Airdyne bicycles in addition to 25 and 45 pound rubber bumper plates. The generous square footage of the Team House weight room can accommodate both full team and individual workouts and is available to all St. Mary's High School students.
The mission of St. Mary’s High School Strength and Conditioning program is to prepare the athletes' body for the strength and metabolic demands of our strenuous athletic seasons. The mission is to maximize each athletes' genetic potential in every component of athleticism, while decreasing the potential for injury in a manner that is safe and effective.
Over the years there have been many methods developed to train athletes. Research has been found that a combination of explosive movements (Olympic lifts and plyometric exercises) and strength training, along with kinetic awareness training, is the best for high school athletes.
We also strive to create complete athletes by developing explosive power, absolute strength, muscular endurance, speed and quickness, flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular fitness.
The athlete will also gain confidence, learn discipline, and develop a strong work ethic that will serve them well in any endeavor in their life.
