Strength and Conditioning

A strong mind in a strong body with a strong soul.

Welcome and Overview

Welcome the St. Mary’s Iron Saint Weight room inside the Kevin Reichardt Fitness Center. We have 6 power racks, 6 full sets of Olympic bumper plates, dumbbells, kettle bells, chains, bands, medicine ball, and stationary bikes.

The mission of St. Mary’s High School Strength and Conditioning program is to prepare the athletes body for the strength and metabolic demands of our strenuous athletic seasons. The mission is to maximize each athletes genetic potential in every component of athleticism, while decreasing the potential for injury in a manner that is safe and effective.

Over the years there have been many methods developed to train athletes. Research has been found that a combination of explosive movements (Olympic lifts and plyometric exercises) and strength training, along with kinetic awareness training, is the best for high school athletes.

We also strive to create complete athletes by developing explosive power, absolute strength, muscular endurance, speed and quickness, flexibility, agility, and cardiovascular fitness.

The athlete will also gain confidence, learn discipline, and develop a strong work ethic that will serve them well in any endeavor in their life.
