A reminder about Fundraising Requests
St. Mary’s is fortunate to have many committed volunteers and opportunities to actively raise funds for our parish, the schools and other worthy causes. To facilitate coordination of all fundraisers, any person or group who plans to coordinate a fundraiser; solicit members of the St. Mary’s community, and/or use the St. Mary’s name must complete a fundraising request which is then reviewed by the Office of Parish Advancement. Fundraising forms for Church and Schools must be submitted on or before September 15, 2013 for strongest consideration. Forms may be obtained from Advancement, the church offices, or from the schools. Any questions, please call 410-268-3467 or contact Maggie Cowdrey at firstname.lastname@example.org.

You’ve worked hard and saved for your future with an Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Now that you are retired and 70-1/2 years of age, you must begin taking distributions from this account. Congress has approved a way that you can give a gift to the parish you love—and not increase your taxable income—by making St. Mary’s the beneficiary of your required IRA income payouts. To find out more, contact your financial advisor and then call Kelly Swartout in the Office of Parish Advancement at 410-990-4229.

We are very pleased to announce that we are now at $5.7 million! We would like to say a special thank you to the St. Mary’s Athletic Association (SMAA) for their pledge of $100,000 to the athletic team house. SMAA provides financial and booster support to enhance the St. Mary’s High School athletic program. It supports students' and teachers' values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, self-esteem, dedication and integrity. The primary source of the Athletic Association’s income is derived through their catering operation. Funds are raised by catering bull roasts, golf tournaments, private parties and the Annapolis Sailboat and Powerboat Shows each October. The SMAA also raises money selling team clothing merchandise, and the operation of the Snack Shack at St. Mary’s Turf Field. The group is always looking for volunteers to assist in their efforts. Contact Jimmy Ellis at 410-320-7718 or email@example.com or SMAASAINTS@gmail.com.
How to Send Payments on your Campaign Pledge
Between the 5th and 10th of each month you will receive in the mail a letter from the Archdiocese of Baltimore about your pledge to St. Mary’s. When you are ready to make a payment, it is very important that you tear off the bottom portion of the statement and put it, along with your payment, in the pre-addressed envelope that comes with your statement.
If you are paying with a check or money order, put a stamp on the envelope and mail it.
If you are paying with cash, do not mail it. Never put cash in the mail. Instead, bring the envelope with you to Mass and simply put this envelope in the collection basket.
Prayer for the Campaign
Loving God, You have blessed us as a nation. From the beginning of the Church in our country, to our present day, Your people have accomplished much by working together under Your divine guidance and inspiration. We give You thanks for the many blessings You have bestowed upon our church where our Catholic Faith first took root. Yet we know so much more needs to be done for the good of our community and to grow Your Church for tomorrow. Open our hearts to respond to the needs of Your Church by being generous stewards of the gifts You have entrusted to us. We ask that You bless this campaign through Our Lord, Jesus Christ, who lives with You and the Holy Spirit as one God forever and ever. Amen.
