Good news from the Golf Tournament!
Congratulations to the Leising Family who are the winners of the Annual Tuition Raffle! The family, who has two children in St. Mary’s Elementary School, will receive $5,000 toward their tuition. This year’s winning golf team was Tyler Hans ’99, Adam Johnson ’99, Colin Hauck ’02, and Nick Rogers ’98; the team also won the tournament in 2010.A big thanks goes out to all who participated in this year’s Tee It Up for St. Mary’s Annual Golf Tournament. We were able to raise $60,000 and all the proceeds benefit the Fleur-de-Lis Fund’s Tuition Angel Program.
Campaign Corner
Embracing Our Mission (EOM) is the current combined campaign between St. Mary’s Parish and the Archdiocese of Baltimore. During the planning for this campaign, our parish leadership identified local needs for St. Mary’s Parish and Schools. These needs are a new church organ, an early learning center, a high school team house at the turf field, and an increased endowment. These needs, combined with the assigned parish goal of $3 million toward the Archdiocese needs, total $8.5 million.
As most parishioners are aware, we fulfilled our Archdiocesan obligation. To date, we have raised $5,267,395.00 from 1,452 donors! Therefore, we are at 60% of our total need.
In exchange for St. Mary’s Parish participating in the joint campaign, the Archdiocesan Embracing Our Mission (AOB/EOM) offices are providing gift processing support and acknowledgement for all the gifts and pledges. This combined campaign process is new to us and has required some tweaking along the way. Here are answers to two frequently asked questions:
I’ve made my pledge but have not heard anything since.
Due to the high volume of pledges in the initial phases, there has been a lag time from AOB/EOM offices in acknowledging pledges and setting up payment schedules with donors. Pledges are expected to be paid in full within five years and the AOB/EOM gift processing office is sending a statement and/or contacting every pledge donor.
Now that I’ve made a pledge, how do I pay?
Listed below are several ways to make EOM pledge payments. You may choose whichever method is most convenient for you.
Use the designated Embracing Our Mission (EOM) offertory envelope. Write your check to: “St. Mary’s EOM and place the sealed EOM envelope into the Mass collection basket.
Pay by check and send it to the AOB/EOM offices in Baltimore using the statement stub you receive from the AOB/EOM offices. Write your check to: “St. Mary’s EOM” and mail payment to: Archdiocese of Baltimore, EOM Gift Processing – 4th Floor. 320 Cathedral St. Baltimore, MD 21201-4421
Call the AOB/EOM Gift Processing office to set up pledge payments through credit card deductions. The phone number is: 443-263-1989.
Pay through your Faith Direct St. Mary’s church giving account. Call 1-800-507-8757 to set up an EOM payment schedule. You’ll need our church code (MD38) and your parishioner envelope ID number.
Pay through gifts of stock proceeds or IRA distributions. Please call the Advancement Office for specific instructions for this type of gift.
You may have other questions about your donation. The Advancement Office is here to help. Please contact Gift Records Coordinator Maria Middleton at 410-990-4184 or mmiddleton@stmarysannapolis.org.
