Committed to the belief that each student can be taught to enhance God-given creativity, St. Mary's strives to provide a curriculum that fosters self-expression, teaches confidence, and nourishes the imagination. The Fine Arts Department is lead by Ms. Joan Brady, an accomplished artist in her own right, who brings talent, skill, and discipline to the department, while nurturing those qualities in her students. Since her arrival at St. Mary's, Ms. Brady has introduced new courses like ceramics to the curriculum. In 2007 she instituted Fine Arts Week, which celebrates the creativity of St. Mary's students reflected in varied mediums. To Ms. Brady, "Arts education plays an integral part in the development of the critical and analytical skills that prepare students for successful careers, and the enrichment provided by the arts throughout a lifetime is immeasureable."
