Faith, Tradition, Excellence, Achievement

Principal's Welcome

It is my pleasure to welcome you to St. Mary’s High School, Annapolis. I hope that you will take time to explore this website and come to know, at least to a small degree, the wonderful things that happen here at the Home of the Saints. As an integral part of historic St. Mary’s Church, we enjoy not only a beautiful campus but also the sense of family that can take place only in a parish community.

Catholic education has long been prized for its emphasis on educating the whole child – mind, body, and spirit. Here at St. Mary’s, we carry on that tradition every day, ensuring that our students enjoy not only the best academic experience possible, but also have opportunities to participate in athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. All of this takes place in the context of the Catholic faith tradition that gives meaning and purpose to all that we do. Students of other faiths also feel at home on our campus and their own religious traditions enrich the tapestry of all that is St. Mary’s.  Our goal at St. Mary’s is to graduate young men and women of intellect and character, integrity and faith, passion and compassion, who are well-prepared to take their rightful place as leaders of their generation and be a force for good in this world. The experienced, talented and committed faculty of St. Mary’s is well prepared to make that goal a reality.

If you are new to St. Mary’s High School, I hope that your experience viewing this site will lead you to contact us to learn even more. If you are already part of our school community, I hope the up-to-date information posted here is not only helpful, but reinforces your decision to make St. Mary’s High School the choice for education for your family!

May God bless you abundantly.

Sincerely,
RICHARD A. BAYHAN
