Small Christian Communities

Mission

The mission of St. Mary's Small Christian Communities is to celebrate our parish vision of being a "warm and welcoming community of faith." We experience "another way of being church" by meeting in homes and sharing our faith. As Christians, we learn and give mutual support to God's presence in our lives and our world. Studying and discussing the scriptures, praying and answering God's call to service in our community are what bond us as a Small Christian Community.

Our groups break open the upcoming Sunday Scriptures generally using "Celebrating the Word" and "At Home with the Word."

We strive to practice 'deep listening.' What is God trying to tell us in these readings? Listening to God's Word is a concrete preparation for Sunday Mass.

“Why Catholic?” is an uplifting adult faith formation process being offered at St. Mary’s this fall that is solidly based on Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Designed around a small group model of faith sharing, ‘Why Catholic?” offers a concrete approach to help adult Catholics deepen or discover anew their Catholic faith and connecting it to everyday life.
