Grading & Homework
Report Cards
A report card is a trimester report from the child's teacher that indicates the child's progress. Conferences may be scheduled by teacher or parent at any time.
Progress Reports
These reports will be mailed at the midpoint of each marking period to all students in grades 1 and 2 as well as to inform parents of a significant drop of two letter grades. These reports should be signed and returned within 24 hours.
Kindergarten Reports
Reports will be distributed to parents of children at conferences. Kindergarten reports will take the form of a checklist in social development, readiness, and in psychomotor developmental areas.

Exams
Midterm and final exams are given in Social Studies, Science, Math and Language Arts to Grades 7 and 8. Students who are ill are required to bring a doctor's note explaining why they were out.
Honor Roll
To qualify for Academic Honor Roll for Grades 5 - 8, a student must achieve at least a grade of "B" or "S" in all subjects, including Conduct and Effort.
To qualify for Principal's Honor Roll for Grades 6 - 8, a student must achieve at least a grade of "A" in all subjects, a "V" or better in special area classes and a "G" or better in all areas of Conduct and Effort.
The Honor Roll seal will be placed on the report card and the Honor Roll List will be published in the school newsletter.
Homework
Homework refers to an assignment made by a teacher that will positively reinforce a concept presented in class and includes both written and study assignments.
Good study habits go hand in hand with good emotional adjustment to school. Calmness and quiet periods in the home can aid in establishing these habits. A specific period of time allowed for study is most helpful.

It is most important for an absent child to obtain the homework assignments upon their return. A "Buddy System" is encouraged for obtaining the work for the absent child. Make-up work due to absence is to be completed within 3 days of return to school. Make-up work due to negligence on the part of the student will be graded. However, the grade will be lowered each day until work, project, etc., is completed and handed in.
It is the student's responsibility to contact the teacher(s) regarding missed work and make-up dates for tests. Each homeroom maintains a record of daily homework assignments. After a two day absence, work may be picked up in the lobby of the Main Office after 3:00 PM, if it has been requested by 10:00 AM.
