The Guidance Counselors serve:

To help children in relationships with others, in self-understanding, to
set goals and develop self-direction to reach those goals.

To coordinate efforts on behlaf of the child among teachers, parents, other
school and community personnel.

To be available for consultations with students, parents and teachers by
appointment through the Guidance Office.

To facilitate outside referrals when St. Mary's Elementary resources have
been exhausted through:

Referral to a pediatrician.

Requesting a private educational evaluation
-
Suggesting an educational screening (ARD) through the public schools
