Honor Roll

To qualify for Academic Honor Roll for Grades 5 - 8, a student must achieve at least a grade of B or S in all subjects, including Conduct and Effort.

The Honor Roll seal will be placed on the report card and the Honor Roll List will be published in the school newsletter.

Homework

Good study habits go hand in hand with good emotional adjustment to school. Calmness and quiet periods in the home can aid in establishing these habits. A specific period of time allowed for study is most helpful.

Homework refers to an assignment made by a teacher that will positively reinforce a concept presented in class and includes both written and study assignments. The suggested amount of homework based on the AVERAGE child is as follows (This should include time spent on written work):

Kindergarten - Grade 2 30 minutes
Grades 3 -4 60 minutes
Grades 5 - 6 90 minutes
Grades 7 - 8 120 minutes
It is most important for an absent child to obtain the homework assignments upon their return. A "Buddy System" is encouraged for obtaining the work for the absent child. Make-up work due to absence is to be completed within 3 days of return to school. Make-up work due to negligence on the part of the student will be graded. However, the grade will be lowered each day until work, project, etc., is completed and handed in.

It is the student's responsibility to contact the teacher(s) regarding missed work and make-up dates for tests. Each homeroom maintains a record of daily homework assignments. Work may be picked up in the lobby of the Main Office after 3:00 PM, if it has been requested by 10:00 AM.
